Canadian Community Newsmedia Awards

The Canadian Community Newsmedia Awards (CCNAwards) celebrate the best in community publishing from across the country. Newspapers and newsmedia sites compete against each other and are judged by a panel of industry experts. With a diverse array of awards categories covering editorial, photography and multimedia, the CCNAwards offer learning opportunities for publishers of all sizes.

English- and French-language community newsmedia across the country are invited to compete in News Media Canada’s annual awards competition, which celebrates the very best in community journalism.

2026 Updates

• The 2026 competition is open to members of News Media Canada only.
• Eligibility continues to include digital-only newsmedia sites.
• Entry fees will be reinstated at the 2024 levels: $75 for General Excellence and $20 for Premier Awards/Special Competitions.
• Contest opens on Wednesday April 15, 2026 with an entry deadline of Thursday May 21, 2026.
