This edged into first place due to the thought that was put into the multimedia approach, particularly given the fact it all came from one reporter, as well as the clear importance of the topic to the community.

Judge Comment:
While this was the strongest package of varied reporting and story types, given this is the Multimedia category I would have loved to see more thought put into original video, photography and use of social media here for it to take first place. Still, this is an impressive and impactful package of reporting.

The Lake Report (Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON)
Entry Title:
NOTL's Choice Awards
Entry Credit:
Richard Harley
Judge Comment:
This was a clean and easy-to-read special with clear community involvement and importance, but I would have loved to see more thorough coverage of the businesses — particularly online — and more thought to the multimedia approach.
Competition Comment:
The entries were varied in terms of approach and topics, but all represented an issue that was important to the local community. There were some good efforts to bring stories to life through video, photography, interactive maps and more.
