  • Competition Comment: The entries with the four highest scores stood out amid the others and they all told stories better than the lower-scoring entries. In general, too many images were used in the photo essays – it's best to have about five or six (or fewer) photos on a full page. Another error I noticed was that most of the photo essays did not have a dominant image. The dominant image is one that is about twice the size of any other image on the page. Also, you do not need to used every inch of the page – white space is your friend!
