  • Place Name: First Place
Contestant Name: Peninsula News Review (Sidney, BC)
Entry Title: Day in the Life 2021
    Entry Credit: Katherine Enquist, Team
Judge Comment: The presentation is far and above the best in this competition. While it is not a novel idea, A day in the Life, it is well executed and shows a slice of life. The technicality and variety of images elevated the entry.
  • Place Name: Second Place
Contestant Name: The Lake Report (Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON)
Entry Title: Top chefs' asparagus tips
Entry Credit: Richard Harley, Jill Troyer
Judge Comment: It is an original idea and technically well executed. Great colour, it jumps off the page. The presentation helped to elevate the entry.
  • Place Name: Third Place
Contestant Name: The Chilliwack Progress (Chilliwack, BC)
Entry Title: Before and after the blaze that destroyed the Village Lytton
    Entry Credit: Jenna Hauck
Judge Comment: The before and after angle helps to tell a story of the destruction of the fire. It's a creative idea and shows planning. The before and after also helps to show the impact of the fire.
  • Competition Comment: Not many entries showed much foresight and planning or a true narrative, Most entries presented a collection of images around a theme, but did not tell a story.
