Entry Title: Rocky Mountain Outlook – Best Feature Story – Jessica Lee

Judge Comment: A solid read from top to end. Well done, Jessica! A remarkable story that's timed for Remembrance Day. Very well told and reported. Re-tracing the steps of a famous story is tough. Jessica wrote this story with such ease that I'm sure it stirred up many memories for readers. Good pagination. Good use of photo captions and credits.
  • Place Name: Second Place
Contestant Name: Nunatsiaq News (Nunavut/Nunavik, NU)
Entry Title: 'They can fix anything': Young welders make art from spare parts
    Entry Credit: Madalyn Howitt
Judge Comment: Absolutely incredible! Well done, Madalyn, on writing a (nearly) perfect story! Good use of CP style grammar and punctuation. Original, creative and handled with such care. Great job to the paginator. My only recommendation is that you do a ragged right on your columns to avoid rivers and lakes in your text flow. Otherwise, solid captions and photo credits.
  • Place Name: Third Place
Contestant Name: Rocky Mountain Outlook (Canmore/Kananaskis/BanffAB
Entry Title: Rocky Mountain Outlook – Best Feature Story – Jordan Small
    Entry Credit: Jordan Small
Judge Comment: The story is well told with excellent use of grammar and punctuation. Consider adding sidebars or pullouts to catch the readers' eyes (i.e., a bulleted list of what else has been discovered recently on the glacier). Add more white space around the design elements. Include more subheads to break up the copy and to make the article easier to read. Consider stylizing the call out at the end (bold or italics) to give the text a pop.
  • Competition Comment: Congratulations to Jessica for an outstanding feature, a historical piece that stirred many memories for Remembrance Day. And kudos to the reporters, editors, photographers and paginators at the Rocky Mountain Outlook and Nunatsiaq News for their continued excellence!
