A quality read and lovely to look at as well. The 30th-anniversary celebration coverage was particularly interesting, and it was great to see so many congratulatory ads in those pages.

Judge Comment:
Except for having too many stories jump to second pages, this paper is a pleasure to read and thoroughly informs people about what's happening in their community.
Competition Comment:
Several publications in this broad category admirably touched as many subject bases as possible in editorial coverage, regardless of their page count, and went all out to focus on special events. Some papers carried excellent Remembrance Day sections, for example, with great ads, photos and stories. Impactful photography also made a big difference, and more is always better. Community-specific editorials written with conviction were wonderful to see, as were editorial pages that still carry cartoons. It’s unfortunate that some papers rely quite heavily on contributions from counterparts in other regions to fill their news or opinion holes.
