Contestant Name:
River Valley Sun (Perth-Andover/Woodstock, NB)
Entry Title:
Jim Dumville - My Thoughts Exactly - River Valley Sun
Entry Credit:
Jim Dumville
Judge Comment:
Jim Dumville's folksy style leads the reader through important subjects and our reaction to them. He's bold when he needs to be and gentle when necessary. Overall, a very good read.
Competition Comment:
It was wonderful to see the wide breadth of writing in this column, however it also created some problems for judging since often there was not a strong opinion present, even when the column was interesting. I'd urge columnists to be bold and let their opinions flow - you and your readers will be happy you did!
