  • Place Name: First Place
Contestant Name: Parry Sound North Star (Parry Sound, ON)
Entry Title: National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (Now called IndigenousLocal)
Entry Credit: Kim Good, Sarah Bissonette, Joyce Jonathan Crone
Judge Comment: The best writing of all packages judged and the inclusion of community voices with the lived experience of the subject made this the best submission.
  • Place Name: Second Place
Contestant Name: The Lake Report (Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON)
Entry Title: A short cut to mushrooms
Entry Credit: Richard Harley, Nicholas Rothwell
Judge Comment: The video is why this package came in second, the rest was not nearly as strong. The subjects in the video are good story tellers and the descriptive scenes are really good. The subject could have been broadened out into the community.
  • Place Name: Third Place
Contestant Name: Capital News (Kelowna, BC)
Entry Title: White Rock Lake wildfire devastates North Westside homes
Entry Credit: Aaron Hemens, Jen Zielinski
Judge Comment: Nice photography. For such an important piece of reporting, the writing did not capture the impact of the event and it needs more voices from the community.
